3rd Class

Seeing my instructor in action really changed my mind about her. Today we did portrait of another person again. I was very satisfied with my drawing but Phyllis said she will take a crack at it. Five minutes at my drawing and I was very nervous, it seem to me when she doing it that she was wrecking it. But the likeness due to her adding tone to the face soared after her adjustments. Today was a very initimate class, with only a few people. In order to maximize the time of the class, I volunteered to help Phyllis with things. Like taking down the easels and putting up pictures. It turns out I really need help with tone. Today, we studied Seurat's drawings. I like them very much. They have a dreamlike and nostalogic quality to them.

2nd Class

We begin to evaluate each other's works. I realize that this class was mistake. It is boring. Phyllis Rosenblatt does not listen. She does not get me. I am disappointed. I asked her what she wanted her students to get from Paul Klee's Pedalogical Sketchbook and could not get a straight answer. I also met the woman who wrote the testimonial on Pratt's Continuing Education website. She is still bad at drawing. Serious student but does not get drawing at all even though she's taken the class four times. We do contour drawing. She does not offer me any insight, except that we can use the weight of the lines. I am bored. Very bored in the class. She talks and talks and talks. Our second assignment is a self protrait, I plan to draw myself head on.
